Did Brunei make a wise choice abandoning and downgrading Jerudong Park?

The only thing that made Brunei Tourist alive, Jeruding Park, and they fucked up this too. When the Jerudong Park is still alive, even hotel is full during Sarawak / Sabah school holiday, a friend from Sabah shared that he and his family always went to Brunei just for Jerudong Park. Tchhh, what a dumb fuck decision they made.

I don’t think we Bruneians realized back then that a lot of people from Sabah and Sarawak visited Brunei just for Jerudong Park. When I say a lot I mean a lot
Or at least not realizing the opportunities that came with it.

As your neighbor Mirian, I’m just sad to see it becomes a shadow of its former glory.
definitely not seething that I didn’t get to ride the roller coaster because of height restriction when young

During 1990's Jerudong Park Playground's didn't charge not a single dollar to local visitors and foreign visitors especially people from Sarawak and Sabah, that was a BIG MISTAKE, they were so boastful and wanted to show to the world about Brunei's wealth and every entry was absolutely FOC, then came the fall of Amedeo all operations were suspended temporarily because of lack of funding

Eh why maintain our local playground, when “they” can play and bring their kids and cucu go abroad and go big playground with cold weather, Brunei very hot bah no fun standing under the sun. If night crowded tia, panas also no air cannot breathe.

Yes. Even with a full scale park, we won’t be able to compete with the likes of Universal SG or HK Disneyland. With the current state of JP, despite attempts to revive it, it’s still in a very sad state. Pay $15 but 3/4 of the rides are under maintenance / closed.

I found the information below and here's a summary
Did you know Jerudong Park was once free for everyone? Talk about a 'no entry fee' party that turned into a ghost town! It was a hotspot for families from Sabah and Sarawak, but now it’s more of a memory than a destination. Who needs Disney when you have a local legend like this? 🎢✨
