Izah Azahari Over the years, Laksamana College of Business (LCB) established itself as a platform for students to further their studies at the higher education level. The LCB graduation ceremony on August 10 for the class of 2022 saw its top students highlighting their experiences studying at the college. Best Student for Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing (Software Engineering) Dhawlath Washima Hyder Ali in her speech expressed joy at receiving the award. “This would not have happened without Allah the Almighty’s help and guidance,” she said. On why she chose culinary, she said each and every person has a quality that makes them an individual; and for her, cooking is her passion. “If there are people who applaud your creativity in cooking and presenting your food, then I can assure you the purpose is achieved,” said Rosabel. She added that taking culinary at LCB was the right choice for her, as the college allowed her to learn the skills and knowledge, and most importantly, to learn teamwork through trust, respect and excellent communication. “Always remember, never let small minds convince you that your dreams are too big. Your dream doesn’t have an expiration date, so always choose to never give up and turn it into a reality,” said Rosabel. Best Student for Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Business (Accounting) Muhammad Arif Hamizsyahmi bin Matzin recounted how he went out of his comfort zone and gave 100 per cent into everything he did. “We can do great things and achieve our dreams when we are open-minded, patient, willing to work hard and go outside our comfort zone,” he said. “Looking back, I’m grateful for the trials and tribulations I experienced. Without them, I would not have become a more open-minded, self-reliant and independent individual,” he added. Meanwhile, Siti Nurnajibah Amilatun Nasibah binti Saini, who received the Best Student for Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality, said this might just be the beginning of the journey to achieve long-term goals. She said joining the hospitality course made her more aware of new things around her, such as time management through balancing her studies, quality time with family and doing other activities in prioritising her well-being. “I’ve gained valuable experience from this course, and I did not expect I would enjoy it so much,” said Siti Nurnajibah. She thanked LCB for providing a platform to further education, make great friends and most importantly, allow them to spread their wings. “With the support given to me, my life in college was smooth sailing, which made me stronger to keep moving forward and never give up,” she said.
