What negative things could they have said, considering they were paid to come here?
The proverb 'beware of people offering gifts' now applies to both sides.

That’s simply because when they are here, as agents, the picture was painted for them.
It would be a different story when the actual tourists arrive and see for themselves.

>The trip, organised by the Tourism Development Department
At least we know someone is working. I guess the end of the year is coming and people need to meet their KPI, or use up the budget somehow.
A better use of the budget would be to have Tourism assistance centres at:
Besides giving information, these places should also have a section where tourists (and locals) can pick up brochures. Also the staff in these places should help tourists book tours (e.g. BSB river cruise), call up hotels to help them book over the phone, call dart/taxis, give information about how to use the poor bus services, etc. etc. So not only a kaunter pertanyaan, but a true tourist assistance centre.

Brunei's wildlife and lanscapes arent unique. You can find the same thing all over Borneo, some features even not found in Brunei.
The real 'Brunei's beauty' is its extravagant and opulent palaces and mansions. Now thats a truly unique experience if it happens to be opened for tourism.

Maybe just a millisecond of "awe". "aw... that's it? Okay. bye"

Lol. Beauty as in? These people have to said so they won't get boycott by our local authorities. And yes, these people are very powerful and very rich, just that they don't know how to develop our country, that's it. Tough they do know how to do investment aboard, buying luxurious and mansion.

I found the information below and here's a summary
Travel agents from Hong Kong were invited by the Tourism Dept and were left in awe of Brunei’s beauty! It’s like a travel fairy tale where they’re treated to a magical experience, but some commenters wonder if it’s all a show for their benefit. Who knew a trip could spark such a lively debate?
