if you wanna get married, make sure you can have your own place first. dont care if rental or whatever. i have relatives who are married and still living with their parents AND have kids already (MULTIPLE). just thinking about that crowded house makes me stressed out already. kesian bah the parents. marriage is a next phase in life. make sure you treat it like that.

also to all newly weds, think REAL HARD. do you want a baby or do you want to raise a kid? that cute baby you like to take pics of and play with annoyingly at family events will grow up to go through all the shit YOU GUYS went through when you were kids. whether they're goody two shoes, samseng, likes to sneak out, player, spends too much time on the computer etc. are yall ACTUALLY ready for that? or are you just thinking about "oooh cute baby awww". it fucking saddens me to see one of my relatives start being distant to their kid now that hes a teenager and not "cute" anymore. he looks fucking miserable. you're raising a literal human being. don't forget that.

Whoa, I honestly didn't know it was a trend in Brunei. Do I live in a bubble or something? People around me usually get marry mid or late 20s, some even later.

Dropping out of school at 15 to get marry is wild. Marriage is not a joke, especially if you end up having kid(s). Bringing children into this world when you have little or no means to take care of them is irresponsible.

In summary, don't marry his d*ck. Marry his heart and brain.

Kawin ikut sunnah inda salah. Ganya kalau pemalas and semua kan "rezeki dari Allah" type of mind set atu tah punca segala problems. Gunakan lah otak kalau nda bercelaru, kalau sehat tubuh badan, berusaha. Jangan kan close minded. I know some couples yg awal kawin but they ended up living happy life because everything start dari NIAT. Apa niat nya? Baik kah nda? Yg niat nda baik atu sorry to say but I saw how THOSE couples from THOSE type of family in Brunei, they ended up not having a good life. Cuz niat buruk, as in gila harta and gila status. So apa2.. Mulakan dari niat.

I dont think its a "trend" to get married early. Most of the wedding this year are people in their late 20 and early 30.(My experience ofcourse).

But I do agree with you, doesn't make sense for him to get married AT ALL. My assumption would be that he probably got the girl pregnant? And family dicided to let them marry and not tarnish the family name?

If pregnancy is not the case, then I ABSOLUTELY agree with you that he is marrying wayy too early.

And yet they wonder why Brunei’s divorce rate keeps increasing, why more and more are living in poverty / relying on govt’s welfare and why there are many broken families in this country. It’s all a chain effect.

All you need for marriage in Brunei is permission from the guardian/parents. Age/consent/financial stability is thrown out the window.

Lack of family planning and poverty goes hand in hand. Usually the poorer you are the more kids you have in Brunei, due to lack of sexual education and knowledge on contraception. My relatives/friends who have more than one kid are struggling financially and even have plans for additional kids. They just yolo.
