In other words, pump more O&G, earn more pay more to the Brunei government so that maybe he can buy another palace or two next year.

Sorry what ?? Competitive? Do you want to sell cheap or do you want to sell more competitively expensive ? By selling cheap you taken all the money and left the nation with no money. Selling expensive you are still making the nation broke. With the profit , left pocket goes to you and right pocket still goes to you. Where are all the funds going to at the end ? Italian mansion? The mora ? What is happening with our isolated friend refinery doing ? Selling cheap by Ripping our resources ? or you are gagged with their balls as they are only fattening your pocket but disadvantaging our nation ?

Yes. They need to stay competitive against their biggest competitor that's preventing them and Brunei from progressing...

I totally agree.. cutting expenses is the only way to remain competitive.. in this day and age since innovation in energy sector is always expensive

urging them to pay on time is more appropriate. many of them delayed payment more than 3 months

With the vast experience that Brunei has built in O&G, we should use that expertise to build an external O&G economy. Especially as we acknowledge that Brunei’s reserves are depleting

Did you know? The Sultan of Brunei is urging energy firms to stay competitive, but the comments reveal a playful skepticism about whether it's really about boosting the economy or just filling royal coffers for more palaces! Talk about a royal dilemma!
