The Corner Kopitiam located in Batu Bersurat have an extension built at the parking space behind the building and patio built next to the restaurant; both a clear violation of the TCP act and ABCi rules.
Despite multiple complaints to TCP and ABCi by member of public, both agencies have been too timid to take actions on the owner whom is a well-known lawyer who obviously know the law too well to bend it.
Time for TCP and ABCi to ensure fairness when come to enforcing the law/regulation/act, also time for AG Chamber to look into individuals with deep understanding of the Brunei law who choose to knowingly break it, be it lawyer or law enforcer.

Some companies think they own the parking spots.
Bandaran will have a fun time fining companies in Menglait. The car workshops and abandoned cars. Also the shops with their huge ass orange cones. Check out the shops at the bakery block. One shop blocks both the front and the back. Even when closed, they still block parking. Entitled much?

Six companies in the Brunei-Muara district have been fined for violating the Town and Country Planning Regulations (Composition of Offences), 2018, during an enforcement operation (OPKEMAS) conducted by the Planning Authority from the Town and Country Planning Department on October 8.
The companies were issued first-time compound fines of BND250 each for using parking spaces as areas to store goods and repair vehicles. This misuse of public parking spots reduced the availability of parking for visitors and created hazardous conditions for both the public and the companies’ employees. Vehicle repair activities in parking spaces increased traffic risks and resulted in slippery, dirty conditions.
The companies have been given seven days from the issuance of the compound to settle their fines.
The Planning Authority, through the Town and Country Planning Department under the Ministry of Development, reminds the public and business owners to comply with planning regulations and secure proper planning permission for all land developments and usage.
Violations of these regulations may pose safety risks and harm the country’s image. – FADLEY FAISAL

But some workshops block parking spaces because they need that space empty so that cars can drive into the building for repairs. Do they get fined for that?
