Why does Brunei require students to leave after uni?

Its not a case special to brunei, dont other countries have the same rules too? In order to work you have to get employment visa. Some may allow few months to enjoy the country sightseeing but you still have to leave after your student visa expires.

Probably to prevent complications with immigrations. If people are coming in for studies, they can only stay until their studies are done. Moving in and working here is a separate process (Student visa vs employment visa)

Unlike other countries, there’s no study to work visa route being offered here.

I am from Brunei (Bruneian citizen) and had to do the same when studying in Singapore. I was fortunate to get hired after I came back to brunei but I never secured employment in Singapore where I graduated from, basically due to close Brunei- Singapore ties and also my personal choices to be back in brunei with my family. I mean, I tried. But weighing the odds, I decided to go home- and I secured employment in my home country.
I'm not sure where you are but technically if you're from the EU- or UK, the company needs to apply for a "work pass" for that particular country. I've only worked with people from the UK so far among the companies I worked with. It's more common for the companies to have "quotas" for Asian countries. Probably something you may need to discuss with your prospective employer then.. And then the process might take some time. Just my 2c.

Because the govt is too blinded by its MIB philosophy and too dumb to consider the benefits of getting personnel that it had properly trained and had spent money training, to help develop its own country.

I found the information below and here's a summary
It's a bit like a game of musical chairs! You study, and when the music stops (a.k.a. graduation), it's time to find a new seat (or country) unless you've got a special visa to stay. Brunei's rules keep things tidy, but it sure makes for some interesting life choices!
