Brunei used to have an election way back in the 50s. Then the '62 Rebellion happened, the State of Emergency and well, we're at this state now. If you read Zaini Ahmad's book Pertumbuhan Nasionalisme Di Brunei, you will find out that numerous political parties existed in the country and we even have an Election Commission to organise an election. I just wonder what our ballot paper looked like during that time.
I even asked my grandpa during the 50s that the people were more than eager to vote for their representatives. The more you know, I guess.

Joint PM-ship of course....
Why settle for one when you can have both...
With both you are guaranteed to get divine blessings + practically bottomless pit of oil reserves...
Make Brunei Great Again !!!

Village Heads and Mukim Penghulus have elections now. Its good to see young ones step up to fill these posts. Lets hope their ideas become actions to be proud of!

as much as I hate this country's government, but goutaxe is an embodiment of a strawman with a penchant for red herring. Wonder what kind of imaginary argument will he cook up next?

I found the information below and here's a summary
Did you know Brunei once had elections back in the 50s? After the 1962 Rebellion, things changed dramatically! It's fascinating to think about how eager people were to vote for their representatives back then, and what their ballot papers might have looked like. Talk about a blast from the past!
