Over BND17K raised to support family in need

A viral message requesting assistance for an underprivileged family needing milk powder for their paralysed son moved Daikyo Industrial Gas Managing Director Hung Ah Hing to action.

Within a day, the local businessman raised BND17,780 for the family through the generosity of his friends and associates.

The donation was handed over to Josephine Kuan on Thursday morning.

Josephine Kuan’s son Jason Foo Ru Fu has been in a vegetative state following a brain injury on October 3, 2021. Since then, the high cost of long-term medical treatment have placed a heavy financial strain on the family. The family’s situation worsened when Kuan’s husband, a Malaysian, passed away a few months ago due to heart complications.

Jason has five siblings: two older brothers, two older sisters, and a younger brother who has a disability. While the four older siblings are working and contribute to the family, the high expenses for Jason’s care mean they still need additional support. Kuan recently started a temporary job, hoping to ease her family’s financial burden.

Kuan expressed her gratitude, saying, “We are truly grateful to Hung Ah Hing and all donors. We need all the help we can get.” – James Kon

What is MORA doing by the way? having more than 100+ millions funds but can't even use less than half a million to help those in needs, they only know how to use millions to build mosque and ask them to pray so money will magically appear in their bank accounts.

I really salute all the chinese big tua tau keh brunei. Them having red, green and stateless IC doing so many things in brunei but yet government turn blind eye on them and only thanking them for their money contribution. Whenever there is big event those big company bosses will be summoned by the government and ask them to sponsor this and that. It's really sad to see government in this state...
