Notably, four cancer survivors from Sarawak and the Philippines joined the camp for the first time, adding an international dimension to the impactful event. Representatives from AIA Brunei also actively participated on the second day, engaging in activities that create lasting memories. AIA Brunei and YASKA concluded the transformative three-day, two-night camp held from December 1 to 3, marking a significant milestone in their dedicated partnership. Set against the backdrop of Teratak Mumin Family Foundation (MFF) and Outward Bound Brunei Darussalam, the annual camp evolved into a beacon of hope, offering children and cancer survivors a unique journey filled with cultural immersion, team-building activities, and boundless opportunities for personal growth. Teambuilding activities, including the exhilarating flying fox, a captivating talent show, and heart-warming pet shows, were spread across the three days and two nights. **A DIVERSE GATHERING OF HEARTS** This year’s camp unfolded with a burst of creativity and inclusivity, extending its warm embrace to cancer survivors and their companions not only from Brunei but also from the Philippines and Sarawak. The diverse amalgamation added vibrant hues to the experience, crafting an environment ripe for shared learning, understanding, and camaraderie within the venue that resonates tranquillity and inspiration, serving as the canvas for an unforgettable adventure. The journey kicked off with a mesmerising Lun Bawang cultural show, treating participants to an immersion into the local heritage. The cultural exchange continued with teambuilding exercises, featuring thrilling activities like flying fox and wall climbing. The challenges were designed not just to elevate spirits but also to forge unbreakable bonds among the participants. **MORE THAN A CAMP** As the sun dipped below the horizon, the camp morphed into a lively haven, with night activities illuminating the talents and unwavering resilience of the young survivors, which glittered with joy and determination, creating an atmosphere where each moment became a sparkling gem in the mix of their collective experience. Beyond the adrenaline-pumping activities, the camp serves a higher purpose – to be a sanctuary for cancer survivors. It provides a space for them to unwind, connect with others who share similar life experiences, and find solace in a community of support. AIA Brunei’s commitment to CSR shines through, aligning with their broader mission of promoting healthy living and empowering individuals to lead healthier, longer, and better lives.
