The Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) hosted the 29th ASEAN Working Committee on Payment and Settlement (WC-PSS) meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday.
The meeting, co-chaired by BDCB and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), was convened in a hybrid format. The meeting was attended by representatives from BDCB, BNM, National Bank of Cambodia, Bank Indonesia, Bank of Lao PDR, Central Bank of Myanmar, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Bank of Thailand, State Bank of Vietnam, and invited speakers from Ant International, ASEAN-USAID Partnership programme, BIS Innovation Hub Singapore Centre and ASEAN Bankers Association.
WC-PSS, established in 2010, is a working committee tasked with conducting studies and providing policy recommendations for the development, cooperation and harmonisation of the ASEAN payment settlement to support the ASEAN Economic Community. The committee focuses on facilitating cross-border connectivity, with particular emphasis on real-time retail payment systems.

Expand to non-western payment systems, e.g. BRICS
de-dollarize USD$ the global financial system; hence gold, oil, cryptos.

I found the information below and here's a summary
It's exciting to see regional banks coming together to discuss payment systems! They aim to boost cross-border transactions and enhance real-time retail payments, making it easier for us to send money across borders. Who knew banking meetings could be so dynamic and impactful for the ASEAN Economic Community?
