Not just a beach cleanup but also a creative Plastic Debris Sculpture Challenge and Best Outfit Category for a fun day out while saving the sea with over 50 participants from BSP Commercial Directorate (DC) with the theme Orang Kitani, Ocean Kitani on 18 August 2024, facilitated by @poniadventuresbn & @oceanweekbrunei, at Jerudong Beach, collecting over 360 kg of trash.

Also supporting the event with a mini marine conservation gallery were @lautbrunei, @reefcheckbrunei, @biofieldbn , and @tebalik.plastik and ocean-themed vendors @thedeepbrew.bn and @reefcafe.bn . @bsp_company Managing Director, Johan Atema commended the participants for their hard work and enthusiasm during closing.

The data of the types of waste collected was submitted to @jastre.bn and uploaded on @oceanconservancy Clean Swell App. Collecting beach clean-up data is crucial for informing and shaping effective environmental policies.

The Plastic Debris Sculpture Challenge not only raised awareness on marine plastic and ways of how to reuse it but also encouraged creativity and teamwork, showing how waste can be transformed into something meaningful.
