***Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan*** Rokiah Mahmud The Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) organised Iftar *jama’ie* at Kampong Sibut prayer hall in Temburong District on Thursday. Ra’es of KUPU SB Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar was the guest of honour. Key officers, lecturers, staff and students of KUPU SB also participated. The ceremony began with the recitation of *Surah Al-Fatihah* led by the guest of honour. A brief *tazkirah* on ‘Fasting is Proof of Faith in Strengthening Piety’ was delivered by Dean of Student Affairs Section of KUPU SB Dr Ustaz Haji Mohd Shahrol Azmi bin Haji Abdul Muluk. The ceremony continued with *Tedarus* Al-Quran with mass recitation of *Juzuk* 12. A presentation of *waqaf* in the form of chairs for congregants of Kampong Sibut prayer hall was held. It was followed with breaking of fast with residents of Kampong Sibut and mass *Maghrib* prayer along with *Sunat Terawih* and *Sunat Witir* prayers. PHOTO: ROKIAH MAHMUD *** ***Ministry of Religious Affairs*** Azlan Othman A delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) continued the *Tedarus* session at RPN Kampong Rataie Mosque in Temburong yesterday. Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, who led the delegation, started the ceremony with the recitation of* Surah Al-Fatihah*. Village Head of Kampong Labu Estate and Piasau-Piasau Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir and Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang also participated. Temburong District Officer Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubaarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim and Head of Religious Officer Temburong Harris Hamdilah bin Haji Masri also attended the ceremony. The ceremony continued with *Tadabbur* Al-Quran led by Head of Dakwah Unit in Temburong Haji Hazimin bin Haji Metali. The recitation of *Tahlil* and *Doa Arwah* as well as *Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam* followed. PHOTO: AZLAN OTHMAN *** ***Women’s Division of the Brunei Malay Teachers Association*** Rokiah Mahmud Some 70 members from various associations under the Women’s Council of Brunei Darusalam (MWBD) joined a *Tedarus* Al-Quran ceremony organised by the Women’s Division of the Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) yesterday. The ceremony was held at PGGMB’s building in Jalan Kianggeh. The ceremony commenced with the mass recitation of *Surah Al-Fatihah* led by Vice President I of MWBD Pengiran Datin Paduka Hajah Mariam binti Pengiran Haji Matarsat. It was followed with a speech by PGGMB’s Women’s Director Pengiran Hajah Rakiah binti Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar in her capacity as Chairman of Religious Division. She hoped that the religious activity will broaden the knowledge and skills in reading and learning Al-Quran in line with the aspiration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to shape the country as a *Zikir* nation and towards Al-Quran literacy. Thirty *Juzuk* have been delegated to members of board of governance and permanent representatives among 13 associations under MWBD. Meanwhile, the *Khatam* Al-Quran ceremony is scheduled to be held on April 16. Apart from PGGMB, a number of associations under MWBD have taken the initiative to organise *Tedarus* Al-Quran among their members and executive committee members. This includes the Women‘s Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam (PSW), Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD), Women’s Institute of Brunei Darussalam (WI), and the Belait Women’s Welfare Association (PKP) Kuala Belait. *** ***Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque*** Azlan Othman The mosque committee of Kampong Sungai Besar held a *Khatam* Al-Quran to express gratefulness after completing the recitation of 30 *Juzuk* of Al-Quran. Village Head of Kampong Sungai Besar, Kampong Serdang and Sungai Belukut Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Awang Haji Zaini bin Haji Awang Damit as well as Mosque Advisor Haji Mohiddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman were present.
