***Prime Minister’s Office*** The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held a ceremony that saw 42 staff members receive donations at the Banquet Hall of the PMO building yesterday, in conjunction with Nuzul Al-Quran and the upcoming Hari Raya. Guests of honour, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah officiated the event. The event commenced with Ash-Shaliheen Mosque affairs officer Haji Md Izzat Izuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran leading the recitation of *Surah Al-Fatihah*. This was followed by a special forum session ‘Al-Quran Pedomanku’ by Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s (UNISSA) Faculty of Usuluddin Assistant Professor Dr Haji Ahmad Baha bin Haji Mokhtar; and senior assistant professor of Jawi Studies from Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) and Kitab Turath Research Centre Dr Haji Harapandi Dahri. Education officer at the Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohammad Jaya bin Haji Metussin was the moderator. Gifts were presented to the residents of Julangan Titah Longhouse in Kampong Melilas, Rumah Besar Kampong Sukang and Punan Longhouse by Head of Dakwah Propagation Division Pengiran Haji Jefri bin Pengiran Haji Hidop. The programme was held in collaboration with the Welfare and Community Unit (UKMS) of UNISSA’s Student Representative Council 2023/2024 session. UNISSA members contributed to the purchase of the drinks donated, with the proceeds from the sale used to obtain rice, cooking oil, sugar, crackers and Raya biscuits. Donations were delivered to two families in Kampong Madang, six in RPN Kampong Rimba, two in Kampong Katok, Jalan Tungku, one in Kampong Sungai Kebun, one in Kampong Sungai Siamas, three in Kampong Setia ‘A’, three in Kampong Setia ‘B’; and three in Kampong Tamoi Tengah. Some 1,300 food packs are set to be distributed among 500 MKM Refugee School students, as well as to the poor and homeless in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh each day. There are 100 students enrolled in the tahfiz programme, and thus far, the school has produced 44 certified tahfiz among the Rohingyan refugees. Male tahfiz students residing in the school are also given *sahur* meals. Meanwhile, from the second to the 16th day of Ramadhan, MKM distributed 803 food packs per day to the underprivileged across the Sultanate, while from the 17th to the 21st day, 525 packs were distributed in the Brunei-Muara District.
