***Ministry of Religious Affairs*** Azlan Othman The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) organised a Tedarus ceremony and Khatam Al-Quran at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital. Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was the guest of honour. Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar and Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA (Policy and Religious) Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang were also in attendance. The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by the minister, followed by Tadabbur al-Quran by Deputy Director of the Jawi Studies and Kitab Research Centre at KUPU SB Dr Haji Mohd Shahrol Azmi bin Haji Abdul Muluk. It continued with the recitation of Takhtim followed by Doa Khatam read by Mosque Officer Begawan Mudim Haji Amran bin Haji Mohd Salleh. Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, as the patron of the mosque takmir committee, attended as the guest of honour, accompanied by spouse Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Hasbi. The minister led the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses. The event also saw the recitation of Takhtim and Doa Tahlil led by Firdaus bin Mohd Salleh followed by Dikir Marhaban by Haji Mat Jali bin Haji Takong. Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud attended as the guest of honour, joined by Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Civil Service, Welfare, International and Media) at the PMO Pengiran Haji Raffizanna bin Pengiran Haji Razali, Acting Director of Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad and Acting Deputy Director Haji Muhammad Ibrahim bin Haji Juma’at. The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti followed by the recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuha to Surah An-Nas and Doa Khatam by Assistant Printer Haji Muhammad Sam bin Haji Zaini. Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin as joint patrons of the mosque attended the event. The ceremony saw the recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Al-Quran verses followed by the recitation of Takhtim, Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, Maghrib prayers and iftar.
