His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman yesterday attended a morning excursion in conjunction with the 9th Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP). The morning excursion began with His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness, together with Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong and spouse Loo Tze Lui, taking a closer look at the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SHOAS) Bridge. The bridge is one of the important landmarks in Brunei Darussalam and also the longest bridge in Southeast Asia, spanning 26.3 kilometres. The bridge crosses part of the Brunei Bay and connects the Brunei-Muara District with the Temburong District. It was opened to the public on March 17, 2020. After viewing the SHOAS Bridge, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness, with the Singapore delegation, proceeded to The Abode Resort and Spa in Kampong Perdayan, Temburong District. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness together with the Singapore deputy prime minister and spouse, along with the Singaporean delegation, were greeted on arrival by Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman; Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu; Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos; and a member of the Legislative Council. The delegations took a leisurely walk at the resort and witnessed cultural performances and silat demonstrations. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness, along with the Singapore deputy prime minister and spouse, proceeded to attend breakfast. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the Singapore deputy prime minister also signed a special parchment to commemorate the 9th YLP. The programme is an annual exchange between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore, which reflects the strong and close bilateral relationship between the two countries. The Singapore delegation concluded their three-day working visit yesterday and departed the Sultanate.
