Azlan Othman, James Kon & Adib Noor Selawat praising Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) echoed around mosques, suraus and religious halls as well as private residence in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) recently held a dikir ceremony at Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in Pekan Bangar. The ceremony began with mass Maghrib prayer, followed by Sunnat Hajat prayers. Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad led the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah. This was followed by the Dikir Assalamualaika, Dikir Khairuman and Dikir Badat. After the mass Isyak prayer, the ceremony continued on with Dikir Marhaban and Doa Dikir, before concluding with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam. The minister also handed over Waqaf to the mosque. Also joining the ceremony were Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the MCYS Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud and Permanent Secretary (Youth) at the MCYS Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin, directors and officials from the ministry. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held a ceremony to mark the conclusion of the 12 consecutive nights of Dikir Maulud in commemoration of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) yesterday. Also present were Permanent Secretary (Development, Maintenance and Technology) at the MinDef Colonel (Rtd) Haji Mohammad Norfahssin bin Haji Abdul Karim, deputy permanent secretaries, officers and staff. The ceremony commenced with mass Maghrib prayers followed by the recitation of Sirah Nabawiyyah, Sayyidul Istighfar, Dikir Assalamualaika, Dikir Bisyahrin and Dikir Alhamdulillah, as well as mass Isyak prayer. It concluded with the recitation of Dikir Marhaban and Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Brunei Darussalam. On Thursday, village heads of Zone 2 Mukim Serasa and Mukim Mentiri also enlivened the religious occasion with a Dikir Maulud ceremony at Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampung Mentiri. Acting Penghulu of Mukim Mentiri Pengiran Haji Ismail bin Pengiran Ibrahim led the delegation of 13 Dikir participants. Meanwhile, the Al-Mudarrisah Women’s Bureau of Kampong Sungai Buloh also organised a similar religious gathering, joined by nine other women bureaus and women mosque committee members under Mukim Mentiri. The Secretary General of senior citizens association Hajah Sinega binti Haji Swadi was the guest of honour, who led the reading of the Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Sayyidul Istighfar and Selawat Tafrijiyyah.
