Bandar Seri Begawan. The 2024 edition of the exhilarating Porsche World Roadshow (PWRS)- the ultimate Porsche driving experience – returned to Sepang International Circuit recently, bigger and better than ever before. Led by certified international Porsche instructors, with guided driving on the racetrack including acceleration, braking, slalom, and off-road driving, participants from Brunei were treated to a day of adrenaline-filled excitement. A total of 18 individuals from Brunei Darussalam attended PWRS in Malaysia. Among these attendees, 13 were participants, including customers and the team from Porsche Brunei. This strong representation from Brunei underscores the enthusiasm and commitment of the Bruneian Porsche community, highlighting their active engagement and support. On the evening prior to PWRS 2024, Porsche Brunei hosted a welcome dinner for all Bruneian participants. The evening provided an excellent opportunity for guests to connect, share their enthusiasm for Porsche, and set the stage for the exciting day ahead. Bright and early the next morning, a wide array of Porsche models were lined up and made ready for the participants: from razor-sharp track weapons like the 911 GT3 RS and 718 Cayman GT 4 RS, to all-terrain athletes like the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid and more. The new all-electric Taycan also made its premiere at PWRS Malaysia, while sneak previews for the all-electric Macan were also possible before the official local launch. PWRS driving experiences were categorized into distinct segments, allowing participants to compete and demonstrate their skills within their respective teams. Porsche has given the new Taycan a particularly extensive update. The new versions have more power, more range, accelerate quicker and charge faster with greater stability. All updated models accelerate much faster than their predecessors. For example: the sports sedans, the Taycan and Taycan Turbo S reach the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in just 4.8 and 2.4 seconds respectively. This makes them 0.6 and 0.4 seconds faster than their predecessors. Depending on the body variant and engine, the WLTP range has also increased up to 678 km, an increase of 175 km or 35 per cent. The updated Taycan not only requires fewer charging stops on long trips than its predecessor, but it also recharges faster: at 800-volt DC charging stations, 10 to 80 per cent State of Charge can be achieved in just 18 minutes in ideal conditions.
