***Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School*** Adib Noor Ninety students of Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam (SMJA) Secondary School were celebrated in a graduation ceremony at the Main Hall of Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SOAS) College recently. SMJA Secondary School Deputy Principal (Academic) Paridah binti Haji Bayong said the success of the students was the result of the hard work and dedication of both the teachers and students of the school. She said despite not reaching their target of 60 per cent, the school still takes pride in its achievements and wished to see the students attaining success in their future endeavours. The event also saw 28 outstanding students receive Excellent Student awards. Meanwhile, 44 received the Green Zone Encouragement awards, and 26 received Excellent Student Awards for obtaining eight ‘O’Levels. Guest of honour, Islamic Studies Officer in Belait District Hazalina binti Dhalan was welcomed by SAB Acting Headmistress Pengiran Hajah Masniah @ Nur Amalina binti Pengiran Hussin. Acting Principal of Academic at Mahad Islam Brunei Hajah Noramalina binti Haji Mohd Ali, teachers, staff, parents and guardians were also present. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the reading of verses of Al-Quran led students, Mohammad Izz’ Mozzat Eijax bin Sharif and Muhammad Is’wat Ilsa Akmal bin Said and a speech by Acting Headmistress Pengiran Hajah Masniah. She said the ceremony aimed to recognise hardworking students and hope they would inspire others to achieve success as well. Meanwhile, Hazalina congratulated the students and teachers, and hoped they will continue to uphold the values and positive attitude. The ceremony continued with the presentation of awards to the best student from each class, best student for each subject, and best in attendance, including Nur Ridwana Syazwina binti Sukardi for excelling in academic and co-curriculum, Nur Aira Syaheerah binti Akup in academic, and Muhd Akmal Hamzah bin Haji Aminorrdin in co-curriculum. Meanwhile, Nur Adriana binti Haji Md Azman, Nuzurah binti Abdullah and Hajah Nur Farhana binti Haji Amdan were named best teachers, while Siti Zahara binti Haji Matusin received Most Promising Teacher Award.
