Daniel Lim, Izah Azahari & Lyna Mohamad The Ministry of Health organised a *Tedarus* Al-Quran ceremony as well as the recitation of *Tahlil* and *Doa Arwah* for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim on Thursday. Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar participated in the ceremony at the surau of Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait. The ceremony began with the recitation of* Surah Al-Fatihah* led by the minister, followed by the mass recitation of *Tedarus* Al-Quran. Head Religious Instructor at the hospital Mohd Ali Omar bin Haji Mohd Yusof led the recitation of *Tahlil* and* Doa Arwah.* The ceremony also saw 14 orphans receive donations from the minister. Acting Director General of Medical and Health Services Pengiran Dr Haji Mohd Khalifah bin Pengiran Haji Ismail was also present. The event began with the presentation of waqaf in the form of electronic goods by the minister to imam of Kampung Lumapas Mosque Haji Ahmad bin Haji Hassan along with a donation to orphans. Haji Ahmad led the Tedarus Al-Quran and recitation of *Tahlil* and *Doa Selamat.* Also present were Legislative Council members, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, heads of departments, senior officers, officers and staff at the Ministry of Home Affairs alongside penghulus, village heads, members of the mukim and village consultative councils, and village residents. The event aimed to enliven the month of Ramadhan while strengthening the bonds among officers and staff at the MoHA with mukim and village consultative council members and grassroots leaders. Meanwhile, the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) delegation along with converts, continued their *Tedarus* and *Sunnat Tarawih* and *Sunnat Witir* prayers, this time for the Nurul Islam Association (PNI) and Muallaf Guidance Class for Brunei-Muara District. It was held at the residence of PNI Chairman PNI Haji Hazwan bin Abdullah in RPN Kampong Rimba, Gadong. Acting Head of Muallaf Development Division PDI Dr Hajah Rohanita binti Haji Yaakub led the delegation. The event also saw Dr Hajah Rohanita presentating *waqaf* Al-Quran and PDI publications for the association’s use. Kampong Sengkurong ‘A’ Village Consultative Council members also continued their *Tedarus* activities conducted through house visits in the village, which began at the residence of the Kampong Sengkurong ‘A’ Village Head on March 25.
