In a groundbreaking effort to make STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) education inclusive and accessible to all, the Women TechMakers and Google Developer Group Brunei, with the support of the Brunei Youth Council and Stick’Em, concluded its workshop at Youth Centre, Bandar Seri Begawan on Sunday. Stick’Em is a visionary organisation dedicated to revolutionising STEAM education through affordable kits and innovative online resources. The event welcomed 90 participants from a wide spectrum of ages, ranging from three to 60. The diverse group included students, teachers, parents, and members of Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, an organisation dedicated to supporting individuals with autism. The workshop’s success was marked by its commitment to inclusivity and diversity. Participants, regardless of their age or background, enjoyed a hands-on exploration of the captivating world of STEAM through engaging activities carefully curated by Stick’Em. The workshop served as a testament to the organisations involved, namely the Brunei Youth Council, Women TechMakers Brunei, Google Developer Group Brunei and Stick’Em’s mission, to nurture problem solvers for the 21st Century and cultivate a national culture of innovation and experimentation. Stick’Em said in a statement that STEAM education should be within everyone’s reach. The workshop exemplifies the organisation’s dedication to providing equal opportunities to all learners. Stick’Em’s mission is to empower learners of all ages and backgrounds to become 21st Century problem solvers. They are committed to making education accessible to everyone and their workshops and programmes reflect their commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
