year after year. same ol same ol
what local businesses need is not just once a year expo. cut the red tapes. chance the regulations to more business friendly ones. the existing ones are made 40+ yrs ago anyway. ancient.
the banks are soo bad at supporting Micro businesses. whom they support more? the already established owned by alibaba. yes, the risks are very high on micro businesses compared to established ones.
can lists and write a book on how bad the Brunei gomen and ecosystem is on supporting the local businesses especially micros. it is as if they want them to fail! perhaps thats the motive all along

Fighting a losing battle. It’s already a habit for people to want to get out of the country end of the year for the last 30 years.

Just got back from miri. A lot of xmas decorations there. Take a guess who are lining up to take photos with their kids running all over the place - bruneians. LMAO.
Call it karma. Brunei becomes a victim of its own self-inflicted, and deeply unpopular mib-ism, intolerance and especially the radical islamization

I hope they at least can get something out of this. You know what else they can do is to have a post mortem after each event to see what can be improved.
I think for the most part it’s about the wide variety of choices and whether the services and goods are affordable. Brunei’s competition isn’t just with other businesses within the country but also with Sabah and Sarawak.
If they can improve then at least it’s a turning point for Brunei lah.

Brunei Local Expo 2024 is like a fun tug-of-war between keeping locals entertained and the allure of holiday getaways! Amid school breaks and festive vibes, it’s an annual challenge to keep Bruneians from running off to Miri for Christmas cheer, all while local businesses hope for a boost. The drama unfolds with a mix of nostalgia and a sprinkle of frustration!
