How to choose a wheelchair.

1. Fixed or detachable armrest/footrest - if you need to be assisted or carried to your wheelchair then it is necessary to buy one that can have the armrest or footrest detachable (to save your Carer’s back)
2. Reclining or not. Most wheelchairs are non reclining. If you have poor trunk control and cannot sit upright without help then you may need a reclining wheelchair that also has a high back.
3. Lightweight or not. Most wheelchairs have steel/chrome frames. The lightweight ones are made of Aluminium and cost more. Basically lightweight = more expensive.
