The ladies team lost decisively to Kota Kinabalu (29-88), with Venessa Pang leading Brunei's scoring with 10 points. The veteran team put up a stronger fight against Kota Kinabalu but narrowly lost 64-62. Brunei's national men's team also faced defeat in their opening match against Miri (80-48). Both the ladies and veteran teams are scheduled to play against Miri today.
