Ive always been curious why budgets are absurdly low for any development for the community, but hosting international events and building castles make it seems like we have an absurd amount of supplementary funds
Not to throw shit on the subsidies we have, i agree it is a privilage and i am thankful, but things just dont add up.

You guys really dont know or you guy pretend to not know.. If sarawak gomen underperform, they will be voted out by next election.. However, brunei gomen is not accountable or answerable to the peasant.. So do you really think they care bout what the peasant think or want.. Their priority is their lifestyle and well-being only.. Other than that, peasant can go pound sand

The increasing cost of car ownership, and the low salaries even of some of the locals means car ownership including maintenance and fuel is being priced out for the lower income people. They need a cheap, reliable, convenient, dependable public transport that can take them from home to work, etc.
Now while Brunei still have the O&G revenues they need to start building a public transport system that work for these low income group, work for the low income foreign workers like maids and labourers, and work for tourists.

In my opinion (a very unfavorable one), introducing tax would benefit our say to this matter. As most businesses are privately owned and sole proprietors dont get taxed. It doesnt help the economy that much per population. and the oil and gas production’s profits are segregated to brunei’s Gamen just enough to run the country. Maybe if we do pay tax, at least we have our say to this just like SG.

I found the information below and here's a summary
Isn't it interesting how Kuching is ramping up ART while Miri is offering free bus rides, all while some rich countries' public transport feels like a time capsule from the 90s? It's like a plot twist in a transportation drama!
