James Kon The Consumer Fair (CF), Brunei’s largest product and trade show, opened at the International Convention Centre for its 26th edition yesterday, after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, and D’Sunlit Advisor Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman bin Pengiran Haji Damit officiated yesterday’s launching ceremony. The mascots portray a family exploring the fair, looking for deals and events. The ‘Rush Hour’ promotions from vendors have also returned, with limited time offers available from Wednesday to Saturday, 2pm to 4pm. Rush hour deals also take place on Sunday, starting from 7pm, “when everything must go”. And as an event capstone, the Consumer Fair Grand Lucky Draw is also taking place, with a Grand Lucky Draw Prize of a new Toyota Wigo, sponsored by NBT Brunei Sdn Bhd. Entry into the lucky draw can be made with any purchase from participating vendors at the event. Since its debut in 2008, the CF has aimed to provide a platform to promote local small and medium enterprises and showcase a range of products and services directly to consumers. The CF continues to grow steadily with an increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors every year. Opening hours are from 10am to 10pm, except Friday when it is closed from noon to 2pm.
