Brunei dont even have budget to maintain and repair public toilets. Broke to the bone!

Requiring sponsorship for maintenance is CRAZY!

Even small repair works need donation from a foreign company. This just show how poor we are. If we stop spending so much money building mosques but instead use those money to repair existing buildings then we will soon have some quality of life.

Why government no repair? Nda budget?

I think it’s good for the private sector to help out the community but I’m finding this to be quite strange. there’s a fine line between community building and doing the government responsibility. Critics can say that this is the government taking advantage of corporates to meet their KPI. This can make officials complacent on their jobs and because it’s not their KPI money they don’t think about spending private sector money. Even worse is if companies start thinking that they need to sponsor to get into their good books. Or government starts expecting companies to sponsor just because.

I noticed a certain finance company doing paying for alot community stuff after a massive PR problem early this year. Maybe their PR consultant told them to keep sponsoring and doing community work to make the higher ups happy and officials look at them favorably. Or maybe they genuinely want to help out.
