***Ma‘idatur Rahman Programme*** Azlan Othman The Ma‘idatur Rahman Programme, organised by As-Syahadah Muallaf Youth and Muallaf Mantap Programme participants in collaboration with the Secretariat of Youth Religious Programme under the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), was carried out at the lobby of the Darul Huda Building, PDI recently. The programme aimed to provide support to underprivileged Muslim converts in the form of basic necessities. PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour. The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Sayyidul Istighfar and Doa by As-Syahadah Muallaf Youth committee member Muhammad Firas bin Kalong against diseases. The event saw the handing over of basic food items by the guest of honour to As-Syahadah Muallaf Youth committee members and Muallaf Mantap Programme participants to be distributed to the needy. Haji Abdul Rajid accompanied the delegation to Temburong District and provided aid to two families – Hafsah binti Abdullah’s family in Kampong Sibut and Arinah binti Abdullah Ambu’s family in Kampong Sumbiling Lama. Some 110 underprivileged students received Ramadhan packs hoped to ease their financial burden while aiding them in upcoming festive preparations. Conducted in collaboration with AiShafikah, 70 residents of the village received alms, comprising basic necessities. Among them were 43 orphans and 37 needy senior citizens and residents. Conducted in collaboration with the Brunei Council on Social Welfare, the Mukim Seria Mukim and Village Consultative Council and the school’s parents and teachers association (PIBG), the event saw cash donations as well as food items being distributed to the students. The donations were collected from organising groups as well as parents of the school and village residents. The Social Kitchen Community enables low-income families, particularly single mothers, to cook and sell home-cooked meals at events or donations nationwide. The initiative is a social venture seeking to find specific skills for the socioeconomically challenged that can be transformed into entrepreneurship. Progresif’s Chief Executive Officer Hajah Nurul Haniah binti Haji Jaafar and staff helped to prepare 200 packed meals for distribution to low socio-economic communities. The contribution, which was part of RBC’s corporate social responsibility, was collected in the Virtual Culinary Journey; Cooking with Seoul For Covid-19 Relief Fund. Acting Director of Administration and Finance Haji Kamarul Azam bin Haji Mohamad received the donations on behalf of the MoH from Dcon Sdn Bhd representatives Wong Ka Min and Arinahwati binti Haji Sanif. “We hope the ART kits can assist the MoH with the processing of COVID-19 swab tests, and look forward to contributing more in the future,” said Wong. Country Representative of Mitsubishi Corporation Tadashi Hara on behalf of JBFA, and UBD Library Acting Chief Librarian and Head of Administration Dayangku Noraini binti Pengiran Haji Idris handed over the books to Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Pengiran Dr Mohammad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra. The collection of 11 books is part of the Japanese Grammar Dictionary Series.
