The Department of Electrical Services (DES) and Brunei Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad (BSP) in a joint press release on Tuesday announced that a scheduled maintenance and restoration work on gas pipeline PID0016 will be carried out by BSP from 22nd to 23rd December 2023, that will potentially cause a temporary and intermittent electricity supply disruption for a few hours, involving the majority of the areas in Brunei-Muara District. The affected areas are: **Mukim Gadong** Commercial and private buildings along Jalan Gadong including One Riverside, Abdul Razak Mall and Centrepoint, Jalan Pasar Gadong including Institutional buildings, Seameo Voctech, Gadong fish market, Gadong night stalls and all nearby commercial buildings, Kg Batu Besurat including all commercial buildings, Kg Pengkalan Gadong, Kg Menglait, E-Government National Centre, State Store, Government Flats in Beribi, Beribi, Kg Mata-Mata including Scout’s Headquarters and all surrounding commercial buildings, Kg Perpindahan Mata-Mata, Kg Tungku including Bureau Narcotic office building, Kg Perpindahan Tungku, Skim Tanah Kurnia Rakyat Jati Tungku, IBTE Kg Tungku, Agriculture areas in Kg Tungku, UNN Tungku Link, Kg Rimba, Perumahan Negara Rimba, Skim Tanah Kurnia Rakyat Jati Rimba, Dialysis Centre Kg Rimba, Civil Service Institute Kg Rimba, Horticulture Kg Rimba, Armed Forces Reserve Unit Kg Rimba, Rimba Point commercial building, Sekolah Arab Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Kg Rimba. **Mukim Berakas A** Old Airport Berakas including all Government Departments/Ministries’ buildings, all commercial buildings at Kg Jaya Setia Berakas including Airport Mall, Times Square, City Square and Jaya Setia Square, Kg Burong Pingai Berakas, Kg Jaya Bakti Berakas, Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Jalan Muara, Kg Anggerek Desa, Kg Pancha Delima, Kg. Pulaie, Kg Orang Kaya Besar Imas, Kg Delima Dua, Kg Sungai Akar including Gurkha Reserve Unit Sungai Akar, Radio Television Brunei Sungai Akar & Internal Security Department Sungai Akar, Pharmacy building Kg Terunjing, Veterinary Clinic Kg Terunjing, part of Kg Terunjing, International School Brunei & One City commercial building at Kg Sungai Hanching, Kg Sungai Orok including Mid Valley commercial building, Kg Salambigar, Salambigar Industrial Park. **Mukim Mentiri** Skim Tanah Kurnia Rakyat Jati Kg Tanah Jambu, Kg Tanah Jambu, STKRJ Kg Sungai Buloh Tanah Jambu, Perpindahan Skim Tanah Kurnia Kg Tanah Jambu, Kg Salar, Perindustrian Kg Salar, Kg Sungai Buloh, Kg Batu Marang, Perumahan Negara Mengkubau, PWD Water Reservoir Kg Mengkubau, Perumahan Negara Mentiri, Kg Mentiri, Civil Service Club Mentiri, Kg Sungai Besar, Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SHOAS) Bridge, Kg Sungai Bunga, Kg Pudak Mukim Serasa Muara Town, Kg Serasa, Serasa Industrial area, Fisheries Department Serasa, Pulau Muara Besar, Jalan Pelumpong including Muara Health Centre, Royal Brunei Naval Base Muara, Kg Sabun, Kg Kapok, Kg Meragang, Perpindahan Kg Meragang, Sixth Form Centre Meragang. **Mukim Kianggeh** Jln Kumbang Pasang including Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Head Office. The press release said works are estimated to be completed within 24 hours and aims to restore the asset’s integrity on several parts of the gas pipeline from the Tungku Gas Plant (TGP) to the Gadong Metering Station (GMS). During the maintenance period, the operation of the Gadong 1 and Gadong 2 Power Stations operated by DES will experience a temporary shutdown. To ensure electricity supply to the nation’s critical facilities and infrastructures are not affected, DES will temporarily supply electricity through the Mobile Generation Sets (Genset). The public is also advised to reduce electricity consumption by adopting energy-saving initiatives and using electricity prudently and efficiently.
