YB Chong stressed the necessity of a cohesive strategy for navigating the digital landscape, emphasizing the significance of inter-ministerial collaboration and AI integration. Additionally, she highlighted the pivotal role of data governance in shaping a Smart Nation and sought clarification on the Ministry's strategies for implementing robust data governance across all ministries to guarantee standardized interoperability of data.

MTIC’s Response:

The Minister updated on government progress in enhancing collaboration and data sharing among agencies, highlighting the National Information Hub's key role and the establishment of data-sharing guidelines. AI discussions are ongoing, with Ethics Guidelines in preparation. Initiatives include the Data Management Framework for efficient data management. Assessments across agencies evaluate data management maturity and digital transformation progress.
