James Kon & Daniel Lim Fifteen patients and their families registered under Medical Social Worker Services nationwide received donations of basic necessities and medical equipment during visits by the Ministry of Health (MoH) through its MoH Prihatin Project yesterday. Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar led the visit in the Brunei-Muara District. In the Belait District, the group was led by Acting Permanent Secretary at the MoH Dr Ang Swee Hui who visited four patients. The group in Tutong District was led by Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Management) at the MoH Dr Hajah Anie Haryani binti Haji Abdul Rahman. For Temburong District, Acting Director General of Medical and Health Services Dr Hajah Lailawati binti Haji Jumat led the group. The minister thanked all involved in the project. MoH Prihatin Project is one of the welfare activities organised by the ministry through the Department of Finance and Administration and Department of Medical Social Worker Services to hand over contribution that is collected from the Medical Welfare Service Patient Charitable Fund. Recipient, Sari binti Jual thanked the MoH and said the donation will help ease their burden. The family including three children are currently living on Community Development Department assistance. In the Belait District, the contingent visited four households, led by Dr Ang Swee Hui. The event started at Al-’Afiah Hall of the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Belait District. The contingent joined in the recitation of *Surah Al-Fatihah* and *Doa Selamat* conducted in the Brunei-Muara District via online meeting. The contingent visited one of the four residences of the recipients, one of which was Pengiran Muslim bin Pengiran Haji Mustapa, 58, who had suffered a stroke 10 years ago. Speaking to the Bulletin, he expressed his gratitude to the ministry and agencies involved in receiving the aid, some of which included necessities as well as equipment such as ramps and bed rails in helping him go about his daily routine being wheelchair-bound. Another recipient 48-year-old Hajah Sufrinah binti Zunaidi, also shared how she had trouble with her eyesight for six years; and that she is grateful for being able to receive the aid for the first time which will help lessen her burden in preparation for Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. The project is also supported by heads of departments, senior medical officers, nurses, hospital staff, under MoH as well as representatives from Allied Health Professional association, Cardiac Society Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Medical Association, Brunei Darussalam Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (BAMLS), Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital Doctor’s Mess and Halliburton. Companies supporting the project are Syarikat TMA Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Bismi Trading Sdn Bhd, as well as personal contributions from officers and MoH staff.
