A Bangladeshi man, Md Siddiqur Rahman, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment and three canings for overstaying in Brunei. His employment pass expired on July 10, 2021, but he continued working illegally until surrendering to authorities on July 4, 2022. Rahman pleaded guilty to the charge.
