***KUPU SB*** Adib Noor The Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) held a Korban ceremony in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha at its Tarbiah Hall yesterday. Two buffaloes were sacrificed and the meat were distributed to 64 recipients comprising staff and students of KUPU SB. KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar and Acting Assistant Ra’es Datin Dr Hajah Noor Hira binti Haji Noor Kaseh presented the sacrificial meat to the recipients. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by KUPU SB Acting Assistant Welfare Officer Abdul Hadi bin Haji Abdullah, followed by a mass recitation of Asmaa Ul-Husna and the singing of the national anthem. A Doa Selamat led by KUPU SB Religious Officer at the Students’ Affairs Section Ali Omar Saifuddien bin Haji Ali Amat concluded the ceremony. The event was organised by the Student Welfare Body, and saw the distribution of sacrificial meat to 27 underprivileged families and UNISSA members. PHOTO: UNISSA *** ***UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI BRUNEI*** Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) held Korban and Aqiqah ceremony to mark Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration at the university’s Concourse Hall on Tuesday. The event was jointly organised by the Religious Unit, Student Affairs Office and UTB Student Representative Council (MPPUTB). Vice-Chancellor of UTB Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman was the guest of honour. Principal officers; university’s staff and students; and invited guests were present. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by Selawat Tafrijiyyah and a mass Takbir Raya. A religious talk on ‘Taqarrub Melalui Ibadah Korban’ was delivered by Director of Public Relations and International Centre of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali Assistant Professor Dr Haji Hambali bin Haji Jaili. The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by the Korban ceremony. The sacrificial meat were distributed to participants including 60 residents of Kampong Sibut. PHOTO: PDI *** ***PERBEKAL*** Lyna Mohamad Kampong Lambak Youth Association (PERBEKAL) held its first Korban ceremony in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration at the Sufri Bolkiah Mosque in Berakas recently. Patron of PERBEKAL Pengiran Haji Nordin bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, PERBEKAL Advisor and Acting Village Head of Kampong Lambak B Pengiran Jofri bin Haji Zaidi, and Vice President I Siti Seriana binti Haji Mohd Yusof handed over the meat to recipients. Three cows were slaughtered for the ceremony, and the meat were distributed to 25 Asnaf families residing in the Brunei-Muara District. Fifteen members of PERBEKAL and Sufri Bolkiah Mosque and Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque Takmir committee members also received the sacrificial meat. PERBEKAL President Pengiran Mahari bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Tahir in his remarks, highlighted the importance of the Korban ceremony. PHOTO: LYNA MOHAMAD *** ***BRUNEI YOUTH COUNCIL*** Adib Noor Over 100 families received Korban meat as part of an Aidiladha ceremony co-organised by the Brunei Youth Council (BYC), Persatuan Kemajuan Insan (KESAN), Projek Bina Ukhwah (PBU), ASEAN Youth Advocates Network (AYAN) Brunei and Projek #INFAQ1 at the Community Space, in Kampong Ayer recently. President of the Brunei Youth Council Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari was present. Some 216 kilogrammes of meat were distributed.
