Azlan Othman, Izah Azahari, Lyna Mohamad & Rokiah Mahmud Activities for the final 10 nights of Ramadhan continue to be held nationwide, as the Sultanate inches towards the end of the fasting month. At Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Akar, congregants recited Al-Quran, with each reader reciting one juzuk. Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism cum Mosque Patron I Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports cum Mosque Patron II Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin also attended. The programme is held in line with the mosque’s vision and mission of serving as a centre for knowledge development to help embed in society a strong faith, towards achieving a Zikir nation and to glorify mosques with activities. Meanwhile, the Mentiri Fire Station Operation ‘A’ Branch held a mass Isyak prayer, Tarawih and Sunnat Witir prayers at the Mentiri Fire Station surau. KUPU SB Ra’es cum guest of honour Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar attended the event alongside key officers, lecturers and staff of KUPU SB. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Asmaa Ul-Husna, the belting of the national anthem, and recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Dr Haji Adanan. Education Officer of Core Education Centre Haji Nasrul Fakhri bin Haji Jaya led the recitation of Juzuk ‘Amma from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah An-Nas, while HEP officer Ampuan Muhammad Fuad bin Ampuan Babba read the Doa Khatam. The event continued with the recitation of Tahlil led by HEP Acting Welfare Officer Abdul Hadi bin Haji Abdullah, Doa Tahlil read by HEP Student’s Dean Ali Hardi bin Haji Mohamed and Selawat Tafrijiyyah led by Assistant Head of Religious and Takmir Surau of MPP KUPU SB, Aqil Arjune. KUPU SB conducts the event annually to improve taqwa and iman in search of Lailatul Qadar night, and to foster stronger ties among the KUPU SB family. It also held a Qiamullail programme at KUPU SB surau and Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri on Friday. Meanwhile, the Women Graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam (PSW) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to mark the conclusion of a Tedarus. Every day during Ramadhan, PSW President Pengiran Hajah Zabaidah binti Pengiran Haji Kamaludin hosted Al-Quran reciting activities attended by members and friends. The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony, held last Thursday, honoured members who had completed 30 verses of Al-Quran. The PSW members led the Tedarus. The practice of reciting Al-Quran in halaqah is practised beyond the month of the fasting month, under the leadership of the PSW president. The goals of the exercise is to acquaint participants with the practice of Al-Quran reading, allowing them to better absorb its contents. Such activities will also strengthen ukhuwah ties between association members, friends and families. Additionally, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) conducted a special lecture to commemorate Nuzul Al-Quran 1443 Hijrah. The HEP organised the online event, with cooperation from the Spiritual and Community Service Unit (UKKM) and UBD Students Council (PMUBD). The lecture was held in conjunction with the Ramadhan month, to provide participants in depth knowledge on Al-Quran learning and teaching. Islamic Da’wah Centre Senior Religious Officer Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman delivered the talk titled ‘Sebaik-baik kamu adalah yang mempelajari Al-Quran dan Menagajarkannya’ for an audience comprising UBD members and the public. UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle andUBD Student’s Dean cum Chairman of the Working Committee for Nuzul Al-Quran celebration Saidai bin Haji Hitam also participated. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by HEP Religious Officer Mohammad Dzulhilmi bin Haji Moharefandi.
